How to calculate tiles required?
First calculate the total area of the floor or wall. Then calculate the coverage provided by one tile. Divide the total required area by the coverage of one tile and add an appropriate wastage allowance.
How much tile wastage should I add?
A common planning allowance is around 5% to 15%, but the actual requirement depends on room shape, tile size, installation pattern, corners, cuts and breakage. More complex layouts can require a higher allowance.
How many 2×2 tiles are needed for a room?
The exact number depends on the room's length and width. Enter both dimensions and the 2×2 ft tile size in the calculator to get an estimate including your selected wastage percentage.
Can I calculate tile cost?
Yes. Enter either the price per tile or the price per box. You can also add adhesive, grout and labour rates to estimate the overall installation cost.
